The Seven Provinces of Nepal

Nepal is divided into seven provinces, each with its own capital city and government, a bit like states or regions in other countries.

They stretch from east to west across the country, from the flat plains of the Terai in the south up to the tall Himalayan peaks in the north.

Each province has its own mix of languages, food, and traditions, which is part of what makes Nepal so rich in culture from one end to the other.
